Thermoset Composite Recycling

Wenzhou Jintong is committed to sustainable manufacturing. We employ multiple recycling pathways for thermoset composite waste generated during production, aligned with our environmental management objectives.

Recycling Methods:

MethodProcess DescriptionRecycled OutputApplication
Chemical RecyclingPyrolysis, alcoholysis, or hydrolysis to decompose the resin matrixPyrolysis gas, pyrolysis oil, CaCO₃, recovered glass fiberFuel, composite fillers
Physical RecyclingMechanical grinding and pulverization of cured composite wasteFine powderComposite fillers, roadbed materials
Energy RecoveryControlled incineration with energy captureHeat energy, CaCO₃, glass fiber residueCement raw material, thermal energy

Thermoplastic vs. Thermoset: Why Recycling Approaches Differ

  • Thermoplastics: Linear polymer chains with weak intermolecular bonds. Can be repeatedly melted and remolded, enabling straightforward mechanical recycling.

  • Thermosets: Network polymers with a high level of cross-linking and strong chemical bonds. Once cured, the material cannot be re-melted. This irreversible cross-linking requires specialized recycling methods as described above.

Wenzhou Jintong manages industrial waste in accordance with Chinese national standards (GB 5085.3-2007). Production waste is classified, collected, and transferred to qualified third-party facilities for appropriate treatment and resource recovery.
